How To Gain Weight?

How To Gain Weight?

How to Get Built!

David Di Cristo

David Di Cristo is the editor of http://www.gainingweight.info/ which helps people gain weight and build muscle in a healthy manner. Here he shares his tips:

Weight gain is not always easy. Being skinny or having a fast metabolism can make gaining weight quite difficult. The key to making yourself larger is to live large; that is you need to eat big and lift big to get big. In addition to lifting weights, the diet you follow is very important. With a good regime of food and exercise, gaining weight should become easier.

There are five simple steps you can follow in order to gain weight more easily.

Calorie count

First, you need to count the calories you consume normally. For one day, don't change anything. Just eat as you do usually and count the calories that you have consumed in the entire day. Try to be as precise as possible with your tally. This is the first important step taken in order to gain weight.

Eat more calories

The next day (after you know how may calories you normally consume), try to consume 500 calories more than usual. Lets pretend that you typically consume about 2000 calories a day. The next day, and for the rest of that week, you would consume 2500 calories. But you don't have to eat three large meals or eat all the day to do this, just divide the 2500 calories into 5-6 small meals. Try eating a meal every two and a half or three hours. Don't forget, to get big, you have to eat big.

Weightlifting

Go to the gym and lift weights. Weightlifting is another important thing that one needs to consider in order to gain weight. There are various weightlifting workouts and routines that can help you put on some weight, pick the ones you like best (and are most likely to follow).

Measure weight

At the end of every week, measure your weight increase. However, do not expect to go up 10 lbs all of a sudden. In fact, putting on more than 2 to 3 pounds a week is unhealthy and could be dangerous. It most likely means you are putting on a lot of fat. Try instead to gain about one pound a week. This way you would find yourself gaining about 5 to 8 pounds every month. Doesnt that sound good?

Last important point

At a certain point, you'll notice that you have stopped gaining weight. When this happens, if you want to continue gaining weight, you need to consume some more calories. So, if you see that you've stopped gaining weight for about two weeks, it's time to start eating those extra 250 calories every day. And if you stuck again, add another 250 calories a day. Anytime you realize that you havent gained weight for about two weeks, it is time for you to add extra 250 calories to your diet.
